Piotr Rudkouski


PhD in analytical philosophy (Warsaw University), assistant professor in Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences.

In the past, he lectured at European Humanities University (Vilnius) and Lazarski University (Warsaw). He was a guest lecturer at Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University, Wroclaw University, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and Bialystok University.

In 2008, he was a visiting scholar at Southwestern College in Winfield, USA. He was twice a research fellow of the Institute of Civic Space and Public Policy (Warsaw) and headed the Belarusian Centre, a section of the institute. In 2017, he was a research fellow in the Centre for Eastern Studies (Warsaw) within the Think Visegrad Fellowship programme.

He is the author of four books and over 100 articles.

In 2013, Rudkouski received the prestigious Polish Lew Sapieha Award "for outstanding merits in shaping and developing civil society in Belarus and bringing Belarus closer to Europe". In 2020, he was awarded a nominee's diploma of Sviatlana Navumava Award within the category 'Political Science / Political Technology in 2019.'

The area of academic interests: democratization of Belarus, value integration of Belarus and EU, eurasianism, national identity, the conception of an open society, critical thinking.

Apart from his mother tongue Belarusian, he commands Polish, English, Russian, and Lithuanian.
