Already in 2019 BISS in its analyses stated that there is a high demand for democracy in Belarusian society. The political awakening of the Belarusian society before and after the 2020 presidential election has shown that the citizens of Belarus are ready to pay a high price for bringing their country closer to democracy and the rule of law.
In this regard, we have launched the research 'Towards a New Belarus: Scenarios of post-Elections 2020 Development', in which we plan to to draft the most probable scenarios of future developments in Belarus and assess the risks of each of them.
Under the rubric 'New Belarus' we also publish brief occasional analyses and discussion materials on the 2020 political crisis and the prospects of systemic transformation.
